What it does

A launchpad graduation hook that locks a coin's liquidity forever, blocks trading until the coin opens, charges traders only the pool's fixed fee, and splits collected fees between the coin's tax recipient and the platform.

This read was written for the hook 0xa420…e880 on BNB Chain and reused here: the two share a code shape, so constants such as fees, owners and addresses can differ.

How it works step by step

  • Acts as the graduation hook for a token launchpad: a graduator contract locks a new coin's liquidity into a Uniswap v4 pool through this hook.
  • Locked liquidity positions are owned by the hook, so the graduated liquidity appears to be permanently locked rather than withdrawable by a person.
  • Anyone can trigger collection of trading fees earned by the locked positions, which are split into a coin tax share (for the coin's tax recipient) and a platform share, then claimed later.
  • Before a swap, the hook checks that the pool is known and that the coin is open for trading; swaps revert before the coin opens.
  • Blocks outside liquidity additions to its pools, so only the hook's own locking process adds liquidity.
Swap behaviour
Each swap is checked to make sure the pool is registered and the coin is open for trading, otherwise it reverts. The hook cannot take tokens from swaps directly; traders pay only the pool's fixed LP fee.
Liquidity behaviour
Adding liquidity appears restricted to the hook itself during graduation-time locking, so third parties likely cannot add liquidity. Remove-liquidity callbacks are disabled, but the launch liquidity is held by the hook with no visible withdraw function, so it is effectively locked forever by design.
Fee behaviour
Uses a fixed pool fee set by the hook (exact percentage not readable from bytecode). LP fees from locked positions are collected and split between each coin's tax recipient and the platform, who claim them separately.
Owner & admin controls
A graduator address can lock liquidity and a platform owner can claim the platform's fee share; a sweep function moves only excess tokens beyond what is owed. No fee-setting or pause function is visible beyond the coin's open check.

Enabled Uniswap v4 callbacks

beforeInitialize, beforeAddLiquidity, beforeSwap

beforeInitialize: limits pool creation to the hook's own setup; beforeAddLiquidity: blocks liquidity additions not made by the hook; beforeSwap: blocks trading on unknown pools or before the coin opens.

Security & trust assessment

Risk level: medium, estimated (decoded bytecode, medium confidence).

Who controls it: The launchpad and graduator contracts control which pools are created and when trading opens. They cannot take swap funds via deltas.

Risk to user funds: The hook holds only collected LP fees owed to tax recipients and the platform; it cannot deduct from trader swaps. Launch liquidity is locked by design, and no outside LP positions exist to trap.

Security findings

  • [info] Launch liquidity permanently locked: Liquidity placed by the graduator is owned by the hook and no withdrawal path is visible, which is intended rug protection rather than LP risk for outsiders.
  • [low] Trading gated by open check: Swaps revert until an external contract reports the coin as open, so trading start depends on that contract.
  • [info] Unverified bytecode: Fee split ratios and exact pool fee cannot be confirmed without source.
