What it does

K2Pad is a launchpad hook where each new token opens into a 1% fee ETH pool; buys pay an extra thin-air fee of up to 9% during periods of heavy buying that is shared with holders, while sells pay only the 1% fee.

How it works step by step

  • Launches a new 1B-supply ERC20 route and opens it straight into an ETH/token Uniswap v4 pool at a fixed 1% LP fee, with no bonding curve
  • Places the base position as single-sided token liquidity from the open price upward, owned by the pad, so no one else can add liquidity and the price cannot fall below the open
  • Optionally places up to three narrow single-sided camp positions at 2x to 20x the open price that release their ETH to the creator once the price has fully crossed them
  • Charges extra ETH thin-air fees on buys when buy pressure exceeds a share of pool ETH depth, with pressure decaying by half every 90 seconds, up to 10% total; sells pay 1%
  • Shares thin-air ETH with token holders via a magnified per-share distribution inside the token contract, and splits base-position LP fees 50/50 between creator and platform with token fees burned
  • Lets the owner or a designated controller pull all of a route's liquidity to an address and sweep stray balances; the owner can also set the controller, fee recipient and router
Swap behaviour
On exact-input ETH buys, beforeSwap computes a thin-air surcharge on top of the 1% pool fee based on decayed buy pressure relative to pool ETH depth (zero up to about 6.67% of depth, rising linearly to +9% at 90% of depth); it is taken as a PoolManager credit and forwarded to token holders. Exact-output buys are charged the same surcharge in afterSwap on the ETH paid. Sells (token to ETH) are not charged the surcharge and pay the 1% pool fee; sells also do not add to pressure. Swaps by the pad itself are exempt.
Liquidity behaviour
Liquidity can only be added by the hook itself during launch (beforeAddLiquidity reverts for any other sender), so external LPs cannot add. Liquidity is removed only by the pad's pull (owner or controller), by releaseCamp once a camp is fully crossed, or by harvest, which removes zero liquidity to collect fees.
Fee behaviour
The pool LP fee is a static 1%. Buys pay an additional thin-air surcharge of up to 9% (10% total) based on buy pressure, shared with token holders. Base position fees are harvested: ETH split 50% to the creator and 50% to the platform fee recipient, token fees sent to the burn address. Camp fees go to the creator when the camp is released.
Owner & admin controls
Ownable2Step owner (intended to be a multisig). Owner can set the liquidity controller (who can also pull and sweep), the fee recipient, and the router address. Owner and controller can call pull, which removes all liquidity for any route that is not already pulled and sends it to a chosen address, and sweep, which sends any ETH or token balance the pad holds. There is no pause, no upgrade mechanism, and no way to change fee parameters or pool settings.

Enabled Uniswap v4 callbacks

beforeInitialize, beforeAddLiquidity, beforeSwap, afterSwap, beforeSwapReturnDelta, afterSwapReturnDelta

beforeInitialize restricts pool creation to this hook with sender equal to the hook itself. beforeAddLiquidity restricts liquidity additions to the hook itself. beforeSwap applies the thin-air surcharge on ETH buys via a return delta. afterSwap updates buy pressure and applies the surcharge on exact-output buys via a return delta. beforeSwapReturnDelta and afterSwapReturnDelta let the hook take ETH from swaps.

Security & trust assessment

Risk level: medium (verified source, high confidence).

Who controls it: The owner (intended multisig) and the controller hot wallet together can remove all liquidity from every route in a single transaction via pull and redirect the proceeds, and can sweep any balance the contract holds. They cannot change the fee rate, pause trading, or upgrade the logic.

Risk to user funds: Traders' ETH and token balances are not held by the hook beyond the pool itself, but the hook holds pending thin-air ETH, fee shares and failed-transfer balances, and the controller and owner can remove all pool liquidity or sweep those balances at will. Thin-air ETH is credited to token holders via the token contract and can be claimed by holders.

Security findings

  • [high] Owner and controller can drain all route liquidity: The owner or the liquidity controller can call pull on any route, removing all base and camp liquidity and sending the ETH and tokens to an arbitrary address. This is a rug capability over every route's pool, though it is gated by the controller and owner keys and the controller is a designated hot wallet.
  • [medium] Owner can sweep any balance held by the pad: sweep lets the owner or controller send any ETH or ERC20 balance the pad holds, including pending thin-air ETH and unclaimed creator or platform fees, to any address.
  • [medium] Hook takes ETH via return deltas on buys: beforeSwap and afterSwap take up to 9% extra ETH on buys through return deltas, which is a material user cost that scales with buy pressure and is set by contract logic rather than a fixed pool fee.
  • [info] Single-sided liquidity cannot be topped up by others: Because beforeAddLiquidity only permits the hook itself, the pool depth is controlled entirely by the pad; this removes third-party LP exits but also means external liquidity provision is impossible.
  • [low] Attack surface from pad-held ETH and tokens: The pad holds pending ETH (creator and platform shares, unflushed thin air) and token balances; failed transfers leave funds stuck here until sweep is called, so user funds depend on operator action in failure cases.
