What it does
A launchpad tax hook that charges every swap on registered token pools a bounded tax, splitting it between the creator, the platform treasury and a burn/rewards engine, while LPs can withdraw freely.
This read was written for the hook 0x4530…20cc on Base and reused here: the two share a code shape, so constants such as fees, owners and addresses can differ.
How it works step by step
- Charges a tax on swaps in pools for tokens registered through a factory, taken from the swap amounts via return deltas.
- Splits collected tax between the token creator, a platform treasury, and a burn/rewards bucket tracked per token.
- Creators and the treasury can later claim their accrued shares; the burn/rewards share is pushed to an external engine contract.
- Checks at pool initialization that the pool belongs to a registered token configuration.
- Swap behaviour
- On each swap the hook takes a tax from the input or output (via return deltas) and records it as owed to creator, treasury and burn/rewards buckets. The tax is bounded by hard-coded minimum and maximum tax constants whose exact values could not be read from bytecode.
- Liquidity behaviour
- No liquidity callbacks; LPs can add and withdraw freely.
- Fee behaviour
- A per-token swap tax set at registration, bounded between MIN_TAX_BPS and MAX_TAX_BPS constants (exact values unknown from bytecode), plus a fixed platform share. Proceeds go to the token creator, the platform treasury, and a burn/rewards engine.
- Owner & admin controls
- The owner can set the factory and engine addresses (appears to be one-time, given an AlreadySet error) and renounce ownership; the factory registers tokens with tax rates within the hard-coded min/max, and creator addresses can be updated.
Enabled Uniswap v4 callbacks
beforeInitialize, beforeSwap, afterSwap, beforeSwapReturnDelta, afterSwapReturnDelta
beforeInitialize: only allows pools for registered tokens; beforeSwap: computes and takes tax on input; afterSwap: takes tax on output and accrues shares; beforeSwapReturnDelta/afterSwapReturnDelta: lets the hook deduct the tax from swap amounts.
Security & trust assessment
Risk level: medium, estimated (decoded bytecode, medium confidence).
Who controls it: The owner sets the factory and engine addresses, and the factory registers tokens and their tax rates within fixed bounds. They cannot block LP withdrawals.
Risk to user funds: The hook can deduct a capped tax from traders' swap amounts and holds accrued tax until claimed; exact cap unknown from bytecode. LP principal cannot be locked or drained.
Security findings
- [low] Swap tax via return deltas: The hook deducts a tax from swaps, bounded by hard-coded MIN/MAX tax constants whose exact values are not verifiable from bytecode.
- [info] External engine receives burn share: Accrued burn/rewards amounts are sent to an engine contract set by the owner, calling notifyRewards/credit.
- [info] LP withdrawals unrestricted: Remove-liquidity callbacks are disabled, so LPs can always withdraw.
