What it does

Burns 0.8% of ENTEN on every swap that sells or buys ENTEN in an ENTEN pool, permanently removing tokens from supply for traders and LPs alike.

How it works step by step

  • Requires every pool it is attached to include ENTEN as one of the two currencies
  • Charges a fixed 80 bps (0.8%) burn on ENTEN sells (exact-input) and ENTEN buys (exact-output) at beforeSwap
  • Charges the burn from actual deltas in afterSwap for exact-output sells and exact-input buys
  • Mints burn amounts as ERC-6909 claims, takes ENTEN from the pool manager and forwards it to the deflation burner
  • Accrues pre-charged sell burns in accruedSellBurns, settled later via burnAccrued
  • Disables liquidity add, remove and donate operations by reverting
Swap behaviour
On swaps where ENTEN is the input or output, the hook takes 0.8% of ENTEN via beforeSwap or afterSwap return deltas, mints the amount as ERC-6909 claims, takes the ENTEN from the pool manager, and sends it to the deflation burner. Swaps not involving ENTEN pass through unchanged.
Liquidity behaviour
No liquidity callbacks; add and remove liquidity revert with Hook__Unsupported, so pools using this hook cannot have liquidity added or removed through the hook path.
Fee behaviour
Not a conventional LP fee: on ENTEN-involving swaps a fixed 0.8% (80 bps) burn is taken in ENTEN via beforeSwap or afterSwap return deltas, minted as ERC-6909 claims then taken and sent to the deflation burner. Pool static fee is unaffected by this hook.
Owner & admin controls
Controller-gated: configureDependencies can only be called by the controller and sets the deflationBurner module address; the hook is a policy under the Enten controller, whose owner can activate/deactivate the policy, disable the BRNER module, or pause settlements (which disables burning). No pause or upgrade mechanism is inside the hook itself beyond these controller switches. burnAccrued is callable by anyone.

Enabled Uniswap v4 callbacks

beforeInitialize, beforeSwap, afterSwap, beforeSwapReturnDelta, afterSwapReturnDelta

beforeInitialize validates the pool includes ENTEN; beforeSwap and afterSwap compute and take the 0.8% ENTEN burn; beforeSwapReturnDelta and afterSwapReturnDelta allow the hook to claim part of the swap amount as its burn delta.

Security & trust assessment

Risk level: low (verified source, high confidence).

Who controls it: The Enten controller owner can disable the burner module or pause settlements, which stops burning, and can deactivate the policy. Burn destination is set by the controller-configured burner module, so the controller effectively controls where burned ENTEN goes.

Risk to user funds: The hook takes ENTEN from swap flows (0.8% of qualifying ENTEN volume) and holds accrued claims until burnAccrued is called; it does not custody LP principal since liquidity operations are disabled. Funds flow to the controller-configured burner.

Security findings

  • [info] Fixed 0.8% ENTEN burn on swaps: The hook takes 0.8% of ENTEN in every ENTEN swap via return deltas and sends it to the burner; traders pay this on each qualifying swap.
  • [low] Burn may exceed filled amount on partial fills: beforeSwap pre-charges the burn on requested amountSpecified for exact-input ENTEN sells and exact-output ENTEN buys; partial fills at a price limit can leave traders over-charged relative to filled amount. Documented as an accepted known issue in the source.
  • [low] Controller can disable burning: Controller can disable the BRNER module or pause settlements; burn then silently stops, and the policy can be deactivated by the controller owner.
  • [info] Accrued burns held as claims: Accrued sell burns are held as ERC-6909 claims by the hook until burnAccrued is called; anyone can trigger burnAccrued to unlock and burn them, and the hook holds these claims in the pool manager.
