What it does
BLOB's self-hooked pool charges every trade a 15% ETH treasury tax during launch, then a permanent 5% fee that is burned on the BLOB side or shared with holders as ETH on the ETH side, plus a permanent 0.20% platform fee, while LPs can withdraw freely.
How it works step by step
- The hook is also the BLOB token itself, and its pool pairs native ETH with BLOB, with launch liquidity seeded single-sided and permanently locked by the hook.
- During the launch phase every trade pays a 15% tax in ETH that goes straight to an immutable treasury address.
- After the admin ends the launch tax (a one-way switch), every trade pays a 5% fee instead. Fees taken in BLOB are burned, and fees taken in ETH are split 70% to qualifying holders as claimable ETH and 30% to an eat bounty pool.
- A permanent 0.20% platform fee in native ETH is charged on every trade and held in a separate fee vault.
- Holder balances take part in a forced on-chain game: idle balances decay about 1% per day, and random volume-triggered 'eats' can burn up to 25% of a holder's peak balance. Launch caps also limit buys to 0.25% of supply per transfer and 2% per wallet.
- Swap behaviour
- Each swap pays a 15% ETH launch tax while the launch phase is on, or a 5% game fee once it is off, plus a permanent 0.20% native platform fee. The fee is taken from the ETH input in beforeSwap or from the unspecified side in afterSwap. While the anti-snipe caps are on, buys over 0.25% of supply, or buys that push a wallet above 2%, revert; sells are not capped.
- Liquidity behaviour
- No liquidity callbacks are enabled, so LPs can add and withdraw freely. The hook's own launch liquidity is permanently locked by design.
- Fee behaviour
- The launch phase charges a 15% tax, paid to the treasury in ETH. After it ends, a permanent 5% fee applies: BLOB-side fees are 100% burned, and ETH-side fees go 70% to holders and 30% to the bounty pool. A permanent 0.20% native platform fee is added in both phases.
- Owner & admin controls
- An immutable capAdmin can only switch off, permanently and one way, the 0.25% max-tx cap, the 2% max-wallet cap, and the 15% starting tax (which turns on the 5% game fee). The deployer could add exclusions and link the NFT/renderer once before launch; fee rates and the treasury are hard-coded.
Enabled Uniswap v4 callbacks
afterInitialize, beforeSwap, afterSwap, beforeSwapReturnDelta, afterSwapReturnDelta
afterInitialize: deployer-only launch setup and recording of the locked liquidity range; beforeSwap: takes the ETH tax and platform fee from the ETH input when ETH is the specified side; afterSwap: takes the fee on the unspecified side, routes it, and triggers eats; beforeSwapReturnDelta/afterSwapReturnDelta: let the hook deduct those fees from swap amounts.
Security & trust assessment
Risk level: medium (verified source, medium confidence).
Who controls it: capAdmin holds only three one-way switches. The worst it can do is keep the 15% launch tax and buy caps in place indefinitely; it cannot move funds, mint tokens, or pause trading.
Risk to user funds: Traders pay 15.2% per trade during the launch phase and 5.2% afterwards. Holders' balances are subject to decay and eat burns. Third-party LP withdrawals are never blocked.
Security findings
- [medium] 15% launch tax with no deadline: Trades pay a 15% tax to the treasury until capAdmin calls removeStartingTax. There is no timer, so the tax can stay on indefinitely.
- [medium] Holder balances burned by game mechanics: Non-excluded holders' tokens decay about 1% per day and can be partly burned by random eats, capped at 25% of peak per the floor rule. This is code-defined and not admin-controlled.
- [low] Launch buy and wallet caps: Buys are limited to 0.25% of supply per transfer and 2% per wallet until capAdmin removes each cap one way. Sells are never restricted.
- [info] Platform controller source truncated: Fee amounts are computed by an immutable controller whose source was not included. The fee figures above come from the hook's constants and comments.
