What it does

GNAW is a fixed-supply token whose hook charges a flat 1% ETH fee on every buy and sell, with no LP fee, and uses all of it for owner-timed buyback-and-burn of GNAW, while LPs can withdraw freely.

How it works step by step

  • The hook contract is also the GNAW ERC-20 token, with a fixed supply minted once at deployment and plain wallet-to-wallet transfers with no tax.
  • It binds to one official native ETH / GNAW pool, which only the owner can initialize, and only once.
  • Every buy and sell on that pool pays a fixed 1% fee in ETH, measured on the gross ETH side of the trade. The pool's LP fee is overridden to zero.
  • All fees go into a buyback reserve held by the hook. The owner can only spend this reserve buying GNAW from the pool, and all GNAW bought is burned immediately.
  • Each buyback is capped at 5% price movement, requires a minimum output and a deadline, and there is no withdraw or sweep function.
Swap behaviour
Each swap on the bound pool is charged 1% of its ETH leg, taken from the ETH paid on buys or the ETH received on sells, and the LP fee is set to zero. Swaps that only partially fill because of a price limit revert, and swaps on any other pool using this hook revert.
Liquidity behaviour
No liquidity callbacks are enabled, so LPs can add and withdraw freely. Note that LPs earn no swap fees, because the LP fee is overridden to zero.
Fee behaviour
A fixed 1% fee in ETH applies to every buy and every sell, and it can never change. 100% of it goes to the hook's buyback reserve, which can only be used to buy and burn GNAW; the LP fee is 0%.
Owner & admin controls
The owner can initialize the pool once and decide when and how much of the reserve to spend on buybacks, limited to 5% price impact per buyback and with all bought tokens burned. The owner cannot change fees, mint tokens, pause trading, or withdraw the reserve, and ownership cannot be renounced but can be handed over in two steps.

Enabled Uniswap v4 callbacks

beforeInitialize, beforeSwap, afterSwap, beforeSwapReturnDelta, afterSwapReturnDelta

beforeInitialize: lets only the owner create the single ETH/GNAW dynamic-fee pool, once; beforeSwap: charges the 1% fee when ETH is the specified amount and zeroes the LP fee; afterSwap: charges the fee when ETH is the unspecified amount, checks for full fills and collects the fee ETH; beforeSwapReturnDelta/afterSwapReturnDelta: let the hook deduct the 1% fee from swap amounts.

Security & trust assessment

Risk level: low (verified source, high confidence).

Who controls it: A single owner controls the timing and size of buybacks and did the one-time pool initialization. The worst the owner can do is never run buybacks, which leaves the reserve unspent; they cannot take it.

Risk to user funds: The hook takes exactly 1% of the ETH leg of each swap on the bound pool and holds it only for buybacks. LP principal sits in the PoolManager and cannot be locked or drained by the hook.

Security findings

  • [info] Fixed 1% swap fee: Buy and sell fees are hard-coded constants of 1% of the ETH leg, and no admin function can change them.
  • [info] LPs earn zero LP fees: The hook overrides the LP fee to 0%, so liquidity providers earn nothing from trading. LPs can still withdraw freely.
  • [info] Reserve can only be used for buy-and-burn: Collected ETH leaves the contract only through owner-triggered buybacks capped at 5% price impact, with the purchased GNAW burned. A badly timed buyback could still lose some value to sandwich attacks within that bound.
