What it does

This hook charges swaps a dynamic fee picked from an owner-configured tier schedule based on pool conditions, with the fee paid to LPs, while LPs keep full freedom to withdraw.

This read was written for the hook 0xdd8e…8080 on BNB Chain and reused here: the two share a code shape, so constants such as fees, owners and addresses can differ.

How it works step by step

  • Sets a dynamic LP fee on each swap based on a tiered fee schedule stored in the contract.
  • Reads the pool's current price before swaps and calculates the fee from configurable thresholds (likely price- or value-based tiers).
  • Lets the owner configure six fee tiers, three threshold values, a base currency and a default fee.
  • Can push a fee update to a specific pool through the PoolManager.
  • Does not touch liquidity; LPs add and withdraw freely.
Swap behaviour
Before each swap the hook reads the pool price and picks a fee from the owner-set tier schedule, which the pool then charges. It cannot take tokens directly from the swap because return deltas are disabled.
Liquidity behaviour
No liquidity callbacks; LPs can add and withdraw freely.
Fee behaviour
The swap fee is dynamic and chosen from six owner-configurable tiers using three owner-set thresholds. Fees go to LPs as normal pool fees; the exact maximum fee could not be confirmed from bytecode.
Owner & admin controls
The owner can change the six fee tiers, the thresholds, the default fee, the base currency, force a fee update on a pool, and transfer ownership. No hard fee cap was visible in the bytecode, though Uniswap v4 itself limits LP fees to 100%.

beforeSwap

beforeSwap: computes and applies the dynamic LP fee for the swap.

Security & trust assessment

Risk level: medium, estimated (decoded bytecode, medium confidence).

Who controls it: A single owner controls the fee tiers and thresholds. In the worst case, the owner can raise swap fees to a level that makes trading expensive.

Risk to user funds: The hook holds no funds and cannot deduct tokens directly. Traders pay whatever LP fee the owner's schedule sets, with an unverified maximum of up to the v4 limit. LP principal cannot be locked or drained.

Security findings

  • [medium] Owner-set fee tiers with unverified cap: The owner can rewrite the fee schedule at any time. Without verified source, it is unknown whether a cap below the v4 maximum of 100% exists.
  • [info] LP withdrawals unrestricted: Remove-liquidity callbacks and return deltas are disabled, so the hook cannot block withdrawals or skim tokens.
