What it does

A taxed ETH/token pool hook that charges buyers and sellers an admin-set ETH tax (9% by default, adjustable up to 99%) sent to a fixed fee receiver, lets admins pause trading at any time, and pays LPs no swap fees while leaving their withdrawals unrestricted.

This read was written for the hook 0x1476…a0cc on Robinhood Chain and reused here: the two share a code shape, so constants such as fees, owners and addresses can differ.

How it works step by step

  • Only allows one pool: native ETH paired with a specific token, with a 0% LP fee and tick spacing of 200.
  • Charges a buy tax and a sell tax on every swap, taken in ETH, starting at 9% each.
  • Sends collected ETH fees to a fixed fee receiver address, or parks them as claims inside the PoolManager to be forwarded later by anyone.
  • Lets the owner, operator or granted addresses open or close trading and change taxes up to 99%.
  • Contains a blacklist mapping, but the swap logic never checks it, so it has no effect on trading.
Swap behaviour
Every swap reverts until an authorized admin turns trading on, and admins can turn it off again at any time. When trading is open, the hook takes the buy or sell tax in ETH, either from the ETH paid in or from the ETH paid out, depending on swap direction and type.
Liquidity behaviour
No liquidity callbacks; LPs can add and withdraw freely. The hook can never block or charge withdrawals.
Fee behaviour
Buy and sell taxes default to 9% each and can be set anywhere from 0% to 99% by authorized admins, with all fees paid in ETH to a fixed fee receiver. The pool's LP fee is fixed at 0%, so LPs earn nothing from swaps.
Owner & admin controls
The owner, the operator and any address they grant access to can set buy and sell taxes up to 99%, zero them, and pause or resume trading. The owner and operator can also withdraw any ETH, ERC20 or NFT held by the hook contract.

Enabled Uniswap v4 callbacks

beforeInitialize, beforeSwap, afterSwap, beforeSwapReturnDelta, afterSwapReturnDelta

beforeInitialize restricts pools to the ETH/token pair with set parameters; beforeSwap blocks swaps when trading is closed and takes the tax on the specified side; afterSwap takes the tax on the unspecified side and forwards the ETH; the swap return-delta permissions let the hook take these taxes out of swap amounts.

Security & trust assessment

Risk level: high, estimated (decoded bytecode, high confidence).

Who controls it: The owner, the operator and any addresses they grant can set swap taxes up to 99% and halt trading. The owner and operator can also sweep any funds held by the hook.

Risk to user funds: Traders can lose between 0% and 99% of each swap's ETH leg to the fee receiver, depending on admin settings, and swaps can be blocked entirely. LP principal cannot be locked or drained by the hook.

Security findings

  • [high] Near-confiscatory tax cap: Authorized admins can raise the buy and sell taxes as high as 99% at any moment, which would take almost the entire swap value from traders.
  • [medium] Trading can be paused: Authorized admins can close trading at any time, which makes every swap revert and can trap holders who want to sell into this pool.
  • [low] Emergency withdrawals: The owner and operator can withdraw any assets held by the hook contract itself. Pool reserves sit in the PoolManager and cannot be touched this way.
  • [info] LP withdrawals unrestricted: Remove-liquidity callbacks are disabled, so LPs can always withdraw. However, the 0% LP fee means they earn no swap fees.
