What it does

This hook charges traders a volatility-based swap fee between a pool's base and maximum fee, paying it to the pool's fee recipient, with bigger price moves likely costing more while LPs can withdraw freely.

How it works step by step

  • Charges a dynamic swap fee in basis points that moves between a per-pool base fee and a per-pool maximum fee.
  • Tracks the pool's last tick and how far price moved, so the fee likely rises after bigger price swings (volatility-based).
  • Takes the fee from swaps and sends it to a per-pool fee recipient.
  • Pools are registered through a factory, which sets the fee recipient, base fee and max fee for each pool.
  • Does not touch liquidity adds or withdrawals.
Swap behaviour
Before and after each swap the hook computes a fee from recent tick movement and takes that fee out of the swap amounts, sending it to the pool's fee recipient. Trades after larger price moves likely pay more, and trades in calm conditions pay closer to the base fee.
Liquidity behaviour
No liquidity callbacks; LPs can add and withdraw freely.
Fee behaviour
A hook fee ranging from a per-pool base fee up to a per-pool maximum fee, bounded by global minimum and maximum constants whose exact values cannot be read from bytecode. The fee is taken from swaps and paid to the pool's registered fee recipient.
Owner & admin controls
The owner can set the factory and transfer ownership; a fee-setting function lets an authorized party (owner or pool fee recipient) change a pool's base and max fee, likely within the hard-coded MIN/MAX fee constants. Exact caps are not verifiable from bytecode.

Enabled Uniswap v4 callbacks

beforeSwap, afterSwap, beforeSwapReturnDelta, afterSwapReturnDelta

beforeSwap: computes the current dynamic fee; afterSwap: updates tick tracking and settles fees; beforeSwapReturnDelta: lets the hook charge the fee on swap input; afterSwapReturnDelta: lets the hook charge the fee on swap output.

Security & trust assessment

Risk level: medium, estimated (decoded bytecode, medium confidence).

Who controls it: An owner controls the factory address and possibly pool fee settings; the worst they can do is raise swap fees up to the contract's hard-coded maximum, whose value is unknown.

Risk to user funds: Only swap amounts are touched, by the dynamic fee up to the per-pool maximum (exact cap unverified). LP principal cannot be locked or drained by this hook.

Security findings

  • [low] Adjustable swap fees with unverified cap: Base and max fees per pool can be changed after registration; a global MAX_FEE_BPS constant exists but its value is unknown without source.
  • [info] Swap return deltas move tokens: The hook takes fee tokens from swaps via the PoolManager and routes them to a fee recipient, which is standard fee collection.
  • [info] LP withdrawals unrestricted: Remove-liquidity callbacks are disabled, so the hook can never block or charge LP withdrawals.
