What it does

A launchpad tax hook that charges owner-set buy and sell taxes on swaps in its launch pool and sends them to a tax recipient, while LPs can still add and withdraw freely.

This read was written for the hook 0x3e56…50cc on Robinhood Chain and reused here: the two share a code shape, so constants such as fees, owners and addresses can differ.

How it works step by step

  • Applies a buy tax and a sell tax on swaps in the pool it launches, taken through swap return deltas.
  • Records the first pool initialized through a designated launcher as its launch pool.
  • Collects taxes as Uniswap v4 claim tokens held by the hook, then lets anyone trigger payout to the tax recipient.
  • Owner can change the buy and sell tax rates and the tax recipient.
Swap behaviour
On each swap in the launch pool, the hook takes a buy or sell tax from the swap amounts before or after the trade. The exact tax rates are set by the owner, and any maximum cannot be confirmed from bytecode.
Liquidity behaviour
No liquidity callbacks; LPs can add and withdraw freely.
Fee behaviour
Separate buy and sell taxes, stored in basis points, are deducted from swaps and accrued as claim tokens for the tax recipient. The pool's normal LP fee still applies, and the tax cap is unknown without source.
Owner & admin controls
The owner can set the buy and sell tax rates, change the tax recipient, and transfer ownership. No maximum tax rate could be verified from bytecode.

Enabled Uniswap v4 callbacks

afterInitialize, beforeSwap, afterSwap, beforeSwapReturnDelta, afterSwapReturnDelta

afterInitialize registers the launch pool; beforeSwap computes and takes tax on the input side; afterSwap takes tax on the output side; the swap return-delta permissions let the hook deduct those taxes from trades.

Security & trust assessment

Risk level: medium, estimated (decoded bytecode, medium confidence).

Who controls it: A single owner controls the tax rates and the recipient. The worst case is raising the taxes on buys or sells, up to an unverified limit.

Risk to user funds: The hook can deduct the configured tax from traders' swap amounts. The maximum rate is unknown from bytecode. LP principal cannot be locked or drained.

Security findings

  • [medium] Owner-adjustable swap taxes: The owner can change the buy and sell tax rates at any time. A cap may exist, but it cannot be confirmed from unverified bytecode.
  • [info] LP withdrawals unaffected: Remove-liquidity callbacks are disabled, so the hook cannot block or tax LP withdrawals.
