What it does
Takes a small fee on every swap in a graduated memecoin pool and splits it between protocol, creator and an optional buyback-and-lock vest, so traders pay the fee and LPs are unaffected by the hook's mechanics.
How it works step by step
- Takes hookFeeBps plus the pool's creatorTaxBps of the unspecified currency on every swap via afterSwap and afterSwapReturnDelta.
- Accrues the hook fee into protocol and creator buckets, with an optional buyback slice when buyback is enabled for the pool.
- Accrues the creator tax separately and pays it fully to the creator.
- Converts memecoin-denominated fees to the pool's quote currency via an internal swap against the pool's own liquidity, bounded by a price impact limit and caller minimum outputs.
- Locks the buyback portion into a five-year linear vesting vault instead of burning it.
- Restricts pool initialization to the factory and exposes owner-controlled fee parameters.
- Swap behaviour
- On each swap the hook takes hookFeeBps plus creatorTaxBps of the unspecified currency via afterSwap, returns that amount as a delta so the swapper gets less, and records the fee for later sweeping.
- Liquidity behaviour
- No liquidity callbacks.
- Fee behaviour
- Takes hookFeeBps (default 1%) plus the pool's creatorTaxBps of the unspecified currency on each afterSwap; the hookFeeBps portion is split between protocol and creator (protocolFeeShareBps, default 30%) with an optional buyback-and-lock slice of the creator share; the creatorTaxBps portion goes entirely to the creator. Combined fee capped at 20% of the unspecified amount.
- Owner & admin controls
- Owner (Ownable2Step, renounce disabled) can set factory once, set buyback vault once, change protocolFeeShareBps (max 50%), buybackBurnBps (max 100%), hookFeeBps (max 10%), maxInternalPriceImpactBps, protocolFeeRecipient, feeSweepOperator, and call rescuePoolFees for any registered pool; factory can register pools, set creator fee recipients and toggle buyback per pool; the fee sweep operator is the trusted party for price-sensitive conversions and buybacks.
Enabled Uniswap v4 callbacks
beforeInitialize, afterSwap, afterSwapReturnDelta
beforeInitialize restricts pool initialization to the factory; afterSwap collects fees from each swap's unspecified currency via take, and afterSwapReturnDelta lets the hook return that amount as a delta so the swapper receives less.
Security & trust assessment
Risk level: medium (verified source, high confidence).
Who controls it: The owner can raise protocol fee share, buyback share and hook fee (up to 10%) at any time, redirect protocol fee recipient, and rescue pending fees of any pool to the protocol and creator; the fee sweep operator controls when conversions and buybacks execute with minimum outputs, so a compromised operator key can grant poor execution and sandwich-prone conversions; the factory can redirect creator recipients and disable buybacks per pool. Ownership transfer is two-step and renounce is disabled.
Risk to user funds: The hook takes a percentage of each swap's unspecified output and holds it until a sweep. The owner and factory can change fee rates and per-pool buyback settings, and the owner can rescue pending fees, but core pool liquidity is not directly held or moved by the hook beyond the swap-driven fee takes and internal conversions.
Security findings
- [medium] Owner can change the live hook fee rate: Owner can raise hookFeeBps up to 1000 bps and change protocolFeeShareBps and buybackBurnBps for future fees; existing pool terms are snapshotted at registration but fee collection reads live hookFeeBps.
- [medium] Internal conversions depend on a trusted operator and minimum outputs: The sweep operator chooses minimum outputs for internal conversions and buybacks, which bound the loss from a manipulated spot price; the internal price impact limit is measured from the current price, so a front-run can shift the whole band.
- [low] Owner rescue path for pending fees: rescuePoolFees lets the owner bypass the escrow and pay out pending quote and memecoin fees directly to the protocol and creator, which is an emergency path that moves accrued pool fees without the normal sweep.
- [low] Buyback lock shifts value from creator to protocol: Enabling buyback-and-lock funds the lock from the creator's share alone, so creators receive back only their fee share of the locked tokens; the protocol gains value at creator expense as buybackBurnBps rises.
- [info] Fees held by hook until sweep: The hook takes its fee via take inside afterSwap and reports it through afterSwapReturnDelta, so swappers receive less than the pool output; funds sit in the hook until sweepPoolFees runs and are only paid out through the fee escrow.
