What it does

A launchpad-style hook that charges fixed buy and sell fees in the quote token on every swap in its pool and pays them to a set recipient, while LPs can add and withdraw freely.

This read was written for the hook 0x7cc5…a0cc on Robinhood Chain and reused here: the two run the same code.

How it works step by step

  • Charges a buy fee and a sell fee on swaps in one specific pool, set when the hook was deployed by a launcher contract.
  • Collects the fee in the quote token (for example the paired base asset) by taking it from the swap through the Uniswap v4 PoolManager.
  • Keeps a running total of fees collected and an amount accrued but not yet paid out.
  • Lets anyone call claimFees to send the accrued fees to a fixed recipient address.
  • Only allows the one intended pool to be initialized with this hook.
Swap behaviour
Each swap pays a buy fee or a sell fee, depending on direction, taken in the quote token from either the swap input or output. The fee rates sit in storage with no setter function found, so they look fixed, but their exact values and caps cannot be read from bytecode alone.
Liquidity behaviour
No liquidity callbacks; LPs can add and withdraw freely.
Fee behaviour
Separate buy and sell fees in basis points (stored as 16-bit values, so technically up to 655%, though swaps would fail far below that) are charged in the quote token and accrued for a fixed recipient. No function to change the rates was found, but the actual percentages are not visible in the bytecode.
Owner & admin controls
No admin setter functions were found; the launcher, recipient, pool and fee rates appear to be set once at deployment. claimFees only pays accrued fees to the fixed recipient.

Enabled Uniswap v4 callbacks

beforeInitialize, beforeSwap, afterSwap, beforeSwapReturnDelta, afterSwapReturnDelta

beforeInitialize: restricts the hook to its designated pool; beforeSwap: charges the fee on exact-input swaps; afterSwap: charges the fee on the swap output side; beforeSwapReturnDelta/afterSwapReturnDelta: let the hook deduct its fee from swap amounts.

Security & trust assessment

Risk level: medium, estimated (decoded bytecode, medium confidence).

Who controls it: No owner or admin functions were detected; parameters appear immutable after deployment. The fee recipient receives collected fees.

Risk to user funds: The hook takes only the buy or sell fee from swap amounts in the quote token; exact rates are unknown from bytecode but appear fixed. LP principal cannot be locked or drained by this hook.

Security findings

  • [low] Fee rates not verifiable: Buy and sell fee rates are stored values whose actual amounts cannot be confirmed from unverified bytecode, though no function to change them was found.
  • [info] Fees paid to fixed recipient: Accrued fees can only be sent to a recipient address stored at deployment, with no setter found.
  • [info] LP withdrawals unrestricted: Remove-liquidity callbacks are disabled, so LPs can always withdraw.
