What it does

This launchpad hook charges a fixed, unchangeable buy and sell tax of up to 10% each, sent to the launch's splitter, plus a steep anti-sniper tax (starting at 99%) that only hits trades in the first 3 seconds after launch, while LPs can withdraw freely.

This read was written for the hook 0x81e3…e044 on Arc and reused here: the two share a code shape, so constants such as fees, owners and addresses can differ.

How it works step by step

  • Binds once to a single launch pool opened by the Argus Portal and refuses to serve any other pool.
  • Charges a permanent creator tax on every swap, set at deployment with separate buy and sell rates, each capped at 10%, and sends it straight to the launch's splitter contract.
  • Adds an anti-sniper opening tax during the first 3 seconds after launch: about 99% at first, then about 6.18%, then about 0.19%, then zero. This tax goes to the protocol treasury.
  • Records a one-time 'bonded' milestone when the pool price first reaches a target tick set by the Portal.
  • Has no owner, no setters and no pause; all rates are fixed in the contract code.
Swap behaviour
After each swap the hook takes its tax from the unspecified side of the trade: the output on exact-input swaps, or extra input on exact-output swaps. Normal trades pay the fixed buy or sell tax (0% to 10%). Trades in the first 3 seconds after launch also pay a decaying snipe tax, with the combined rate capped at 99%; the Portal and the splitter are exempt from the snipe tax.
Liquidity behaviour
No liquidity callbacks; LPs can add and withdraw freely. Third-party LPs earn the pool's normal LP fee but no share of the tax.
Fee behaviour
On top of the pool's LP fee (intended 1%), the creator tax is a fixed 0% to 10% per direction, chosen at deployment and paid to the splitter; at least one direction must be non-zero. During the first 3 seconds the snipe tax adds up to 99% (combined cap 99%), paid to the treasury, and then drops to zero permanently.
Owner & admin controls
No admin controls found. The Portal can only set the bond milestone tick once, which affects nothing about fees or funds.

Enabled Uniswap v4 callbacks

beforeInitialize, afterSwap, afterSwapReturnDelta

beforeInitialize: one-shot bind to the Portal-created pool and start of the snipe window; afterSwap: computes the tax and checks the bond milestone; afterSwapReturnDelta: deducts the tax from the swap amounts and sends it to the splitter and treasury.

Security & trust assessment

Risk level: low, estimated (decoded bytecode, high confidence).

Who controls it: No owner or admin key exists. The Portal can only bind the pool and set the bond tick once, and the recipient addresses are fixed forever.

Risk to user funds: The hook takes 0% to 10% of each swap's unspecified side as creator tax, plus up to 99% combined during the first 3 seconds after launch. It cannot touch LP principal, and LP withdrawals are unrestricted.

Security findings

  • [info] Anti-snipe opening tax up to 99%: For about 3 seconds after launch, swaps by anyone except the Portal and splitter pay up to 99% extra, decaying to about 6.18%, then about 0.19%, then 0%. The schedule is fixed in code and cannot be extended.
  • [info] Immutable creator tax capped at 10%: Buy and sell tax rates are fixed at deployment, each at or below 10%, with no setter, owner or upgrade path.
  • [low] Failed tax transfer reverts swaps: If a tax transfer to the splitter or treasury fails, the swap reverts by design; with no admin, this could leave the pool untradeable.
  • [info] LP withdrawals unrestricted: No liquidity permissions are enabled, so the hook cannot block or charge LP withdrawals.
