What it does

This hook turns a v4 pool into a gateway that sends every exact-input swap to an external Jurassic bonding-curve market, charging no extra hook fee (the external market's own fees apply). It blocks adding liquidity, and a registry admin can turn swaps on or off.

This read was written for the hook 0x038e…0888 on BNB Chain and reused here: the two share a code shape, so constants such as fees, owners and addresses can differ.

How it works step by step

  • Routes every swap on the Uniswap v4 pool to an external Jurassic/Rise bonding-curve market (the 'core pool') instead of using Uniswap liquidity.
  • Only exact-input swaps are supported; exact-output swaps are rejected.
  • Adding liquidity to the v4 pool is always blocked, so the pool works as a front door to the external market.
  • Swaps only work while the registry marks the market as active. Traders can set a minimum output, a recipient, and (through a trusted router) the acting account.
  • Any leftover base asset from a buy is donated back to the core pool's liquidity.
Swap behaviour
On each exact-input swap, the hook takes the trader's input tokens and buys or sells on the external core pool, enforcing the trader's minimum output. It then pays the output back through the PoolManager, so the trade fully bypasses v4 pool pricing. Exact-output swaps and swaps on inactive markets revert.
Liquidity behaviour
Adding liquidity always reverts, so nobody can LP in this v4 pool. Remove-liquidity callbacks are disabled and the hook cannot block withdrawals, though there is no v4 liquidity to withdraw.
Fee behaviour
The hook adds no fee of its own and returns a zero v4 fee override. Trading fees are charged by the external core pool's buy/sell fee configuration, which sends shares to the floor, creator and team; those rates are not visible in this contract.
Owner & admin controls
The hook itself is immutable with no owner. The separate registry owner or registrar can register markets and change a market's status, which can enable or disable swaps through this hook.

Enabled Uniswap v4 callbacks

beforeAddLiquidity, beforeSwap, beforeSwapReturnDelta

beforeAddLiquidity: blocks all liquidity additions; beforeSwap: checks the market is active and routes the trade to the external core pool; beforeSwapReturnDelta: replaces the v4 swap with the external fill amounts.

Security & trust assessment

Risk level: medium, estimated (decoded bytecode, high confidence).

Who controls it: The registry owner or registrar controls which markets are registered and active, so they can halt swaps for any market. They cannot take trader funds through this hook, which has no admin functions.

Risk to user funds: The hook briefly holds a trader's input tokens during a swap and routes them to the external core pool, returning that pool's output with no extra hook fee. There is no LP principal at risk, because liquidity additions are blocked.

Security findings

  • [medium] Registry can switch swaps on or off: The registry owner or registrar can set a market's status to something other than active, which makes all swaps through this hook revert.
  • [low] Pricing and fees come from an external contract: Swap output and fees are set by the external core pool, not by v4. Traders should rely on the minimum-output parameter for protection.
  • [info] Trusted router can set the acting account: Only the fixed trusted router can override which account is credited as the actor on the core pool. Any other sender always acts as itself.
  • [info] No LP exposure: Adding liquidity is permanently disabled, and the hook has no remove-liquidity callbacks.
