What it does

A launchpad hook that charges launch-configured quote-token fees on every swap (with heavier anti-snipe taxes on early buys and optional anti-sandwich limits), splits them among creator, protocol, floor, buyback and holder vaults, and keeps the launch liquidity permanently locked.

This read was written for the hook 0x8a29…bfff on Ink and reused here: the two share a code shape, so constants such as fees, owners and addresses can differ.

How it works step by step

  • Runs token launches created by its factory, seeding a protocol-owned launch liquidity position that nobody can add to or withdraw from (it is permanently locked).
  • Charges a per-swap fee in the quote token (base fee plus a configurable hook tax, optional dynamic fee and a decaying anti-snipe tax right after launch) and splits it among the creator escrow, protocol, a backed-floor vault, buybacks, auto-burn, LP deepening and holder airdrops.
  • Optional protections per pool: one swap per wallet per block (anti-sandwich), max transaction size, exact-input-only buys while the snipe tax is active, and reverting partial fills.
  • Optional backed floor: sells at or below the floor price can be filled from a floor vault instead of the pool.
  • Routes callbacks to per-pool plugins chosen at launch, which may add surcharges, rebates or deltas on swaps, liquidity changes and donations.
Swap behaviour
Each swap pays a fee taken from the quote-token side (input for buys, output for sells), with a possible top-up after the swap so the rate applies to the realized amount; the combined fee is clamped to at most 100% of the quote amount, mainly so early snipe taxes can be very high. Swaps may be blocked for a second swap by the same wallet in the same block, for oversize trades, for exact-output buys during the snipe window, or for partial fills.
Liquidity behaviour
The launch-range position is locked forever and third parties cannot add to that range; other LP positions can be added and removed, but attached plugins run on add/remove and can return liquidity deltas, whose exact effects are in omitted libraries.
Fee behaviour
Fee is a base fee plus a per-launch hook tax (static or dynamic) plus a time-decaying anti-snipe tax on buys and any plugin surcharge, capped in total at 100%; exact rates are set in the launch config and libraries not shown. Fees go to the creator escrow, protocol distributor, floor vault, buyback vault, burn and LP-deepen queues, and holder airdrop vaults.
Owner & admin controls
The hook itself is ownerless with all pointers immutable; per-pool settings and plugins are fixed by the factory at launch. The external vaults it pays into (escrow, floor, buyback, airdrop) have owners who can set operators.

Enabled Uniswap v4 callbacks

beforeInitialize, afterInitialize, beforeAddLiquidity, afterAddLiquidity, beforeRemoveLiquidity, afterRemoveLiquidity, beforeSwap, afterSwap, beforeDonate, afterDonate, beforeSwapReturnDelta, afterSwapReturnDelta, afterAddLiquidityReturnDelta, afterRemoveLiquidityReturnDelta

beforeInitialize: registers launch pool; afterInitialize: plugin hook; beforeAddLiquidity: blocks third-party adds on the launch range; afterAddLiquidity(+delta): plugin adjustments; beforeRemoveLiquidity: locks the launch position; afterRemoveLiquidity(+delta): plugin adjustments; beforeSwap(+delta): anti-MEV checks and fee take, floor fills; afterSwap(+delta): fee top-up, fee queues, buybacks/burns, plugin settlement; before/afterDonate: plugin hooks.

Security & trust assessment

Risk level: medium, estimated (decoded bytecode, medium confidence).

Who controls it: No admin key controls the hook; the factory configures each pool once at launch, and owners of the external fee vaults control operator roles there.

Risk to user funds: The hook takes swap fees from the quote side, from the base rate up to a theoretical 100% cap during the snipe window; the launch position is locked by design, while other LP withdrawals depend on plugin behaviour not fully visible.

Security findings

  • [medium] Very high early fees possible: The total fee is only clamped at 100% of the quote amount, so the anti-snipe tax right after launch can take a large share of buys; it decays over a configured duration.
  • [info] Launch liquidity permanently locked: The protocol-owned launch position can never be removed; this is by design and does not affect third-party LP positions directly.
  • [medium] Plugins with liquidity return deltas: Launch-selected plugins run on remove-liquidity and can return deltas; their limits are in omitted source, so impact on third-party LPs is not fully verified.
  • [info] Immutable, ownerless hook: No proxy and no owner setters on the hook; fee recipients are immutable vault contracts.
